The Pillow Ministry is an outpouring of hope and solace for those in the hospital and for cancer patients having chemotherapy.  What started out as a show of support and love for friends and members of St. George's who were in the hospital, has also become a beacon of comfort for chemo patients at Cancer Centers. Members of the Parish (yes both ladies and gentlemen) get together and make brightly colored pillows, just the right  size to squeeze in bed.  It is usually a team project with members and friends taking part in the fabrication of the pillows.

The pillows are then placed in plastic bags with a note form St. George's.  Finally the pillows are blessed during  a Sunday service and made available to members for distribution to patients in need.  We are blessed to have nurses in our congregation that see that the pillows get to the patients both at home and in the hospitals. Our pastoral care priest, Father Jack Brockman, also sees that they get to those needing comfort.
